Note about this food
Polyvinylpyrrolidone earns its place in food by binding what nobody wants to drink: it grips the tannins that make a beer or a wine hazy and is then filtered out again, so most of what is used never reaches a glass. The polymer itself is synthetic, built from vinylpyrrolidone rather than from sugars or amino acids, and it is not digested or absorbed.
